Well I will say "Thank you!" again. This has been such an awesome journey with you. Your writing brings the forest alive. I especially love the opening few paragraphs of this chapter as springtime takes over the landscape. The wind symphony plucking the aspens. And I literally laughed out loud at the man swearing there really was a wolf on that trail in his photo. This chapter brought up strong emotions in me, (I almost teared up). I think it was a very fitting end to the story and you wrapped it up very nicely, but I will sure miss these guys! Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

And I'll say "thank you" again, Tim, to you and Shannon both. Your appreciation and support have been essential in sustaining Colorado Wolf Stories over the past year-- particularly with the uncertainties of last summer. I'm SO glad the stories resonated with you! That's what means the most to me, because in that way the stories continue. Cheers my friend!

Clint… I so appreciate your ability to write such imaginative stories that always leave me wanting another chapter… so captivating with details I feel like I am part of the pack! You are way too talented of a writer to not pursue publishing your work. Plus the wolves need you to educate the standing ones about the lessons we could learn about dedication to family , survival and resilience from wolves. They have been and misunderstood for way too long. Also it’s not just how much I enjoy reading about the wolf pack but how you write about the surroundings.. describing nature .. enough said for now.. full moon tonight .. guess I will go howl and see if I get a response 😎

Thank you, Priscilla! I’m so pleased to hear that you were captivated by these stories. For the most part, they played out in my mind almost like I was watching a movie, and I just tried to describe what I was seeing. I hope to hear you howling at the moon some evening!

Your explanation of writing like it was playing out in your mind is how I felt reading your stories.. vivid scenes so beautifully describing the wonders of the natural world.. such a gift you have. Thank you for sharing it.. we sure need something inspiring to read in the chaos of today’s world..

I noticed you mentioned Carter Niemeyer. I met him at a great old Broads 3day seminar in 2017 when we were trying to get wolves reintroduced in CO. I have his book “Wolfer” You have inspired me to read it again. Another beautiful full moon tonight.. Hope you heard my call to the wild.. 😎🌛🌕 🐾

The final episode…When a friend suggested I check out your Colorado Wolf Stories on Substack, I was curious as to your writing, yet without expectation of its content. Since that first episode, I have been educated and entertained!! Waiting for each episode to drop, with your writing giving me a front row seat in the lives of this wolf family I’ve come to appreciate more than I ever thought possible. I’m sorry to see this series end, and I hope (as many of us readers have encouraged) that you publish this series!!!! I would buy your book in an instant and happily give it a coveted place on my bookshelf! It’s been a privilege to read your works…

Yes, me too - as I was reading this today, I was thinking this is a quality of writing that is totally worthy of being in print in a physical book. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Thank you so much for those kind words! It's a bittersweet ending, true, but I feel the series has come to a satisfying conclusion. From that first essay Colorado Wolf Stories became so much more than I could have imagined. And, yes, I will definitely now look into publishing options!

Thank you, Clint.

This last story, as all the rest, created so many visual images of wild places in my thoughts that I felt like I was there with the pack. You have done well my friend!

Really great work, Clint. I, too, will be sad to see them go. Your description in this last installment was very powerful, and I encourage you to keep on writing, if you feel called to it.

Thank you, Mike! I’m so glad the concluding episode captured your imagination. I feel very good about how things tied up here at the end. Though this storyline has run its course, at least for now, you might be pleased to know that I have a “spinoff” series already in the works, one that includes a character who vanished mysteriously in this series, only to reappear in the new one under far different circumstances. Stay tuned!

What an educational and entertaining ride you have taken us on!

I will always be eager to read your next “nosy” descriptions of my now-favorite wolf pack.

And a hearty toast to “Little Blackie” wherever he may be!

Clint! I missed this post and just got to it now...sad that it's the last and so very grateful that you stuck with it for a year! I just returned from lobbying in D.C. for the Endangered Species Act, and my line was about the importance of top predators, including the wolves. I shared my story of seeing a lone wolf walk by my sleeping bag in the middle of the night in the Wind Rivers. It is an experience I will never forget, and I feel like your stories have deepened my connection to this majestic animal! Thanks, and stay well!
