Such an awesome series Clint - at the risk of sounding like a broken record, again I feel like I am right there seeing the whole story play out right in front of me, all the way down to the sights, sounds and even smells! You have an excellent writing and storytelling ability!

Exciting story! Well done creating the setting. Interesting that the wolves don’t eat this kill… what do you think the theory is behind that? Song dogs🤩.

It felt as if all of this really happened., that it wasn't a story. The description and the action were riveting, and I hung on the words. Couldn't wait to find out how it all ended. I knew at least one coyote would be killed. But you (and the pack) were merciful. Also learned a lot, again. Great work.

What a great glimpse of survival tactics! Your episodes show how incredibly wise the Coal Black Female is, as she leads her family through so many “real life” scenarios…I appreciated the perspective of size difference between the wolves/coyotes, and once again, I’ve learned something new. Why is it that the wolves won’t eat the dead coyote? Is it because they’re related? (I LOVED your photo, btw!)

Thanks Cindy! I'm so glad you find these stories entertaining and thought-provoking. The behaviors depicted in these stories--such as wolves' reluctance to feed on a dead coyote--are based on observations reported by various biologists and writers (R. McIntyre, B. Lopez, etc.) As to the "why" in this case, your guess is as good as mine!
